OBJETIVES:

Make a non interventional study on the conservation of sites of LA from the point of view of architecture, environment, geo-diversity, bio-diversity, history and conservation / alteration of building materials (rocks, mortars and bricks)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Conduct a comprehensive study in the surroundings of the target sites in Argentina (Luján Religious Tourism), Brazil (Tubarão River and surrounded natural and cultural area, protected by municipal law) and Mexico (Cuitzeo lake, Route of the Bicentenary of the Independence), in order to carry out the complementary and scheduled socio-economic study (WP2). The involved tasks will recover the site and its surroundings with potential natural assets or property (WP3), contributing to the development of local populations, including all activities for the local awareness and dissemination of relevant results achieved (WP4), determining:

  • The State of the Art of places and their environments
  • General overview of the State of the Needs of the identified sites
  • Identification of existing requirements and potentials
  • Elaboration and transfer of a Local Development Action Plan and Business Plan about the cost of each intervention (Valorisation Action Plan) to the local/national authorities of each LA country

Gathering all information and results achieved in WP1 to form a database used to develop teaching modules (WP3) and carry out the training courses, seminars and open days scheduled and described (B2.1), and dissemination materials (videos, pamphlets etc.) (WP4). The consortium has big experience in on-line training courses (Within TRAINMONHER project (INCO-SSA) involving UNLu, UAB, UNSNH and RBI). 3 on-line courses were organized in Marrakech(French), Morelia(Spanish) and Split(English) during 2007-2008

Task 1.1: Physical sites studies: environmental chemistry (contamination of water, soil and air), inventory of potential geological resources (minerals, rocks-petrology, paleontological) botanical (bio-diversity) and finally, health studies regarding main diseases associated to pollution (heavy metals, organics, fertilizers).

Task 1.2: Inventory of heritage resources (monuments and/or property of a certain cultural value) outlining their condition and guidance on possible intervention actions

Task 1.3: Creation of a database for later use in WP2-3-4
